Are you bored Already With Your Nexus One ? Then It’s Time To Root it ![]()
In this Tutorial You will learn How to Root Nexus One and Have Custom ROM’s or Multitoch if you don’t have it already or maybe Sense UI on your Nexus One . Rooting Your Nexus One will Give you FULL access to the File system so please Be Very careful becoause you will be enable to edit the Nexus One Firmware as you like , Also Rooting you Nexus One Will allow you to add themes or Some Apps and Even Custom ROM’s as i said before .
I can Say that there is 2 ways to Root Your Nexus One First One is by Downloading Superboot From Here And Follow these Instructions :
- Download Superboot
- You Should Put your device in BootLoader Mode By Turning your Nexus One Off and Remove the battery
- Plug your USB Cable . Of course make sure that you Have already Installed the USB drivers
- Now Put The Battery Back and Turn Your Nexus One On And Hold Down the Trackball In same time ( You Will see FastBoot Screen Comes Up)
- Now You will see your Nexus One Serial Number
- Now Type fastboot-windows oem unlock
- Now Follow the screen On your Nexus One ( Select Yes) “If you got an error Just Ignore it Don’t Freak Out!)
- For Windows Users Click On ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’.
- That’s It !!! All done Your Nexus One Have Been Rooted .
If you ask me I don’t Like the First Way :/ , Second way is better but it take some time To Root Your Nexus One
Ok Lets Start :
- Make Sure Is Your USB Drivers is installed Correctly and Confirm your Nexus One is recognized by ADB
- Back Up All your Important data from Your Nexus One
- Reboot Your Nexus One into FastBoot As we Did Before
- Open a command prompt And Go to your Android SDK tools folder and Type ” fastboot devices ” To Check that Nexus One Is Recognized.
- Now Unlock Nexus One Bootloader By Typing this Command ” fastboot oem unlock”
- Click on (Yes) and press Power button To confirm .
- You Should Download New Recovery Image For Nexus One
- Go To Amon_RA’s recovery image to Download
- Ok Now Copy the File that you downloaded to your Android SDK tools folder
- Now open Command prompt and go to Android SDK tools folder
- Type ” fastboot flash recovery NameOfTheFileYouDownloaded.img
- Now Reboot Your Nexus One
- In this Step You Should Enable USB debugging
- Go to Settings > Application settings > Development > USB debugging (enable)
- Now Go here and download any Custom .zip File That you want to flash
- Copy the .zip file that you downloaded to Your Root Directory if your Nexus One SD Card
- Now Open a command prompt and Go to Android SDK tools folder
- Type “adb reboot recovery” To reboot Your Nexus One into Recovery mode
- Now Use Trackball and Go to ” Flash zip from Sd Card” and then select the .zip File that you already downloaded
- Follow the Screen Instructions
- After Flash is Complete Reboot Your Nexus One
- That’s It !!! Congratulations Your Nexus One Has Been Rooted
- Have Fun with Your Nexus One
